To become a taxi driver and apply for a taxi licence most local councils require you to undertake taxi VRQ training certificate introduction to the role of the professional Taxi and Private Hire Driver the taxi VRQ course sometimes referred to as taxi btec or taxi driving test is the required training course to apply taxi driver licence the taxi VRQ course covers a range of learning outcomes to achieve the VRQ qualification.
The taxi training the certificate introduction to the role of the professional Taxi and Private Hire Driver, Taxi VRQ Level 2, VRQ qualification will develop knowledge and skills in areas such as health and safety in the taxi work environment; vehicle maintenance and safety inspections; routes and fares; map reading and route planning; and transporting of children and young people.
The taxi VRQ course is suitable for drivers already employed within the taxi and private hire industry as well as new entrants in the taxi driver industry.
If you are new to the Taxi and Private Hire industry you will need to complete this mandatory Taxi VRQ training and obtain the VRQ qualification course in order to progress with your taxi licence application with the local council and apply for a taxi licence.
This qualification provides the underpinning knowledge for the taxi NVQ level 2 Certificate in Road Passenger Vehicle Driving (Taxi and Private Hire), some councils may require you to undergo this further taxi training course after a period of time.
To meet the needs of licensing authorities, and their obligations within the Equality Act 2010, it is a requirement of the taxi driver training qualification that the driver will undertake training and a practical assessment with a taxi with folding and stowing a wheelchair, and loading and fastening a wheelchair so that the passenger is safely and comfortably secured in the vehicle, this process is also part of the taxi VRQ.
